Katherine Wells

Katherine has worked as an environmental lawyer and environmental policy consultant, with 20 years’ experience working across Australia for business, the environment movement, and the broader community.

During that time she served on a range of government and community boards, including as Chair of the South Australian Premier’s main environmental advisory board, the Premier’s Roundtable on Sustainability, and as National Vice President of the Australian Conservation Foundation.

Katherine was active across the full range of environmental sustainability issues, with her particular focus was on climate change. Katherine also was a member of the Steering Committee for the Development of South Australia’s Climate Change Strategy. Katherine also played a significant role in the adoption by South Australia of Australia’s first legislated emissions reduction target, and strong renewable energy targets.
